The Story
My name is Lorraine, and I am the proud founder of The Granny Wardrobe, a one-of-a-kind vintage clothing shop catering to those who adore exquisite, carefully curated vintage frocks and accessories. As a woman-owned small business, I take pride in delivering exceptional quality and service to my customers.
Originally from Taiwan, I spent my adulthood in the UK before moving to the west coast of Canada, where I now live in Vancouver with my husband, our kids, and our cat, Ferguson.
Growing up, I was raised by my granny, and when she passed away while I was still young, I missed her dearly. Whenever I looked at her photos, I could almost smell her perfume and feel the soft silk scarves around her neck, as if she were still holding me.
In my early 20s, I started collecting vintage pieces from thrift stores, flea markets, and hidden gems I discovered while travelling. I sought out unique and exceptional finds that spoke to me and reminded me of my granny’s effortless elegance.
As my collection grew, the wardrobe in our small apartment became so full that my husband barely had space left for his minimalist wardrobe of five T-shirts and two pairs of trousers! That’s when the idea struck me—to turn my passion into something bigger. In 2019, The Granny Wardrobe was born.
